Maths

It's really important to learn your times tables.

The government says that you need to know all of your times tables by the end of Year 4. Knowing your times tables means to be able to correctly answer a times table question in under three seconds (you don't have time to work it out!).

You should also know related facts, for example if you know that:

6 x 4 = 24

Then you should also know:

24 ÷ 6 = 4

24 ÷ 4 = 6

60 x 4 = 240

40 x 6 = 240

0.6 x 4 = 2.4

0.4 x 6 = 2.4    etc.

And always remember the words of Sir Bobby: "Practice makes permanent."

Here are some Maths websites that you may like to look at, at home, to help you develop your mathematical skills.

Nrich sets maths challenges for all levels of maths ability. You can search for an area of maths that you aren't as confident about or have a go at their monthly challenge.

You can find the Nrich website here.
